Shawside Level, Nenthead, Cumbria.

Back to Various Small Levels Index

The is a small level that was probably driven by the London Lead Company in around 1819/20 when they were testing the Hangingshaw West of Nent Vein in the Firestone Sill. Records show that a little ore was raised from the Tumbler Beds.
