After the Brownley Hill round trip a few months ago I felt that I
needed some SRT practice, I did everything that I needed to do on the trip, but
it wasn't as smooth as it used to be. So we headed into Smallcleugh to have a
play on a couple of low level pitches practicing rigging, adjusting SRT kit for
optimum operation, passing re-belays and derigging.
The pitches where
only short ones of around 4m, but it was all to do with practicing the
techniques and refining them. The difference between when I started out and 4
hours later was quite outstanding in the fluidity of it all.
